Care for Dogs is based in Chiang Mai Thailand. We organize sterilisation spaying sterilizations, medical care, vaccination and feed homeless and rescue dogs in danger.

Care for Dogs was founded in June 2006 by Karin Hawelka & Amandine Lecesne, following their individual efforts with numerous dogs across the city of Chiang Mai and believed by establishing an organised group, they might focus their efforts and become more effective in their shared objective to improve the health of dogs throughout the area.

As word of their activity and hard work reached local media, other people were drawn to volunteer with Care for Dogs and today the group is constantly expanding with a worldwide network of assistance supporting the work in Chiang Mai.

Care for Dogs became a legally registered charity in 2009 and is now proud to be known as a foundation.

There are many people who help now and again, some who give an hour here & there, some who spend their holiday time helping out in some way or other and then there are those who seem to eat, sleep & breath caring for the dogs at the shelter, running to & fro on vet trips, feeding & treating at temples and generally getting ’stuck in’!
