RideAsia motorcycle forum is developed & maintained by riders for riders, without commercial constraints or influences, bringing a free spirit approach to online motor biker information.

South East Asia offers a wide variety of riding conditions, including off road tracks mud, water, dirt and hardpack, for all levels of rider as well as exciting twisty mountain tarmac roads and long rolling highways. Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, Thailand & Vietnam provide terrific opportunities for long or short duration road trips. Thailand and Laos are currently very popular with riders coming to Asia, many of the roads seeing little traffic and giving riders the ability to enjoy the feeling of freedom.

“Sometimes simply giving someone the chance to explore for themselves what they have inside, is worth far more than hours of instruction.” ~ John Cope, Director of Stratton ABC Foundation.

Raison d’être

To use ART as a tool for underprivileged children and communities to express themselves; to transform and transcend their environment.

A colourful wall mural, a simple little painting on the wall, a communal playground with art randomly placed, a painted post box or dustbin can bring smiles and a sense of ownership to the children and adults who crafted them. Art empowers them emotionally and gives them an useful craft or skill. Plus it’s fun!

Note: This is a non-religious organisation. I believe in giving children a voice through art regardless of ethnicity/religious or political backgrounds.

Lanta Animal WelfareLanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a charity organization. LAW’s role is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on Koh Lanta Island, in the south east of Thailand.

Their aims are to reduce the overpopulation of stray cats and dogs on the island through sterilization programs, provide medical care to all sick and injured animals pets or strays and educate the local population on animal care.

In 2005, during the construction boom after the tsunami, workers from all over Thailand came to help rebuild what had been destroyed. Many brought their dogs, and when the building was complete they left them behind. Tourists took pity over the dogs and began feeding them. This resulted in a high survival and reproduction rate causing a completely different kind of boom. That of starvation, disease, abuse and injuries. Something had to be done…

Colin is a serious motorcycle rider who visits Thailand every year, when it is Winter in his home country, the UK and rides literally any & every road he can around Thailand.

As he journeys, he takes photographs and these tell a story of the places he visits.

To end the day, he typically shows what he had for his evening meal and also a little about his accommodation.

Below is a calendar of where in Thailand he has been since November 2007, shown by region of Thailand, as defined by the GT-Rider forum where he posts all his activity at the end of each day.
